Freedom on wheels...

We are becoming a bike riding family. Gannon has taken to his bike without training wheels like he aspires to be a BMX trick rider. Seriously- I have new and exaggerated wrinkles from all the cringing I do. And Ruthie on her princess bike is a sight to behold. She often leans forward extends both legs behind her and glides past with the look of a ballerina on a bicycle. You have to see it.

And then there's Andrew and Peter who are happy as long as we are moving on some sort of wheeled vehicle. We rented a bike trailer recently at the beach and the freedom of having them behind me with the wind in my hair not stuck behind a cumbersome double stroller was pure JOY!! RJ is a mountain biker/trail rider but he too loves the suburban wind in his hair and asphalt under his wheels with giggling riders in tow...

So when I saw the Madsen Cargo Bicycle I fell in love. Here it is:

I WANT this bike. I could come up with plenty of ways to say that I need it... but I really just want it. I have vintage aspirations of a smaller house older than 50 years, a cottage garden again, uneven wood floors again, paneled walls, ceilings that don't involve the word "popcorn" etc. Until I am able to see that dream realized... I can pretend I have a vintage life on this bike with giggling twins in tow, a princess in my sight and a bike riding phenom somewhere in the next cul-de-sac...

If you visit the Madsen Cycles site from my blog, I will be entered to win. The contest ends July 15th. Thanks for the help!

You can click on this advertisement to find out the details on how to enter yourself as well.

You are too cute with your vintage dreams! But I know them well...selling our tiny 1940s MS cottage with a gorgeous backyard, beautiful rose gardens and PERFECT (but a little creaky in spots) hardwood floors was hard for me, no matter how much I wanted to leave that state again. I often wish we could have picked it up and brought it with us.
I checked out the site. Since the drawing is the 15th, does that mean that this may be transportation from the airport? :)

That is a darling bike, Rebecca. It would be so perfect for the little boys! (and would look so right propped up near the front door...)
